Marika Grantham is the founder and owner of Shine Medspa & Microblading in Wakefield, Massachusetts. She built Shine around a simple belief: self-care is not vanity — it’s an investment in the woman you already are.
Marika holds a Master’s in Social Work, earned with honors, and spent over 18 years working in psychotherapeutic care. She began by running her own practice in the EU, where she became a certified trainer of Deep-Oriented Short-Term Psychotherapy and practiced Katathym Imaginative Psychotherapy (KIP), incorporating art therapy to help her clients heal. After relocating, she spent a decade as clinical director of outpatient behavioral health programs in Massachusetts — before choosing to change careers into aesthetics, ahead of ever completing independent US clinical licensure. She is also a licensed aesthetician, makeup artist, and SofTap® permanent makeup specialist; it was microblading — first on her own brows — that brought her into the beauty industry.
Marika is also Shine’s most consistent client. She has personally undergone liposuction, Morpheus8, ADVATx laser, PDO thread lifts, GLP-based medical weight loss, microblading, Hormone Replacement Therapy, and the EmpowerRF/V-Revive suite — with Shine’s own physicians, Dr. Guenin and Dr. Doppelt. She calls it her metamorphosis: not a single before-and-after, but an ongoing transformation, using the exact treatments and the exact doctors her own clients would see.
